Production regulation

Consorzio tutela vini D.O.C. Caluso Carema Canavese

The production regulations governing prescription is the obtaining of an agricultural product or a foodstuff.
More precisely, in the coordinated field, the discipline is the rule of law that defines the requirements of a production and commercial product to PDO or PGI or DECO (or equivalent qualifications when considering the states outside the European Union).
Any product that is national or European friezes of a designation / indication protected has a specification (Champagne, Barolo, Parma ham, Parmesan cheese, the bread of Altamura, the White Asparagus of Bassano del Grappa, the ‘ Olio del Garda and thousands others).
The specifications are periodically audited: date-modified (normal evolution), split (when a naming it off another), merged (when you join denominations), repealed (when the name ceases to exist). Where available, the consortiums oversee the creation and management of the specification reference.
The process to develop, submit, approve, publish a specification (and its denomination / indication) is rather complex and, in any case, must be carried out by the EU. A specification is a law in effect and related violations determine criminal offenses.
There may also be disciplinary, so to speak, “private” or on a voluntary basis but very local (in practice are of specifications): however in this item is the only discipline in the field of regulation.
